Clothing & Equipment

Songadeewin doesn’t require camp uniforms. Instead we simply ask that campers bring rugged casual clothing suitable for outdoor activities and camping experiences, and conditions that can range from damp and chilly to hot and humid in a single day! Function trumps form when it comes to packing for the woods, and we don’t want a lack of suitable clothing to prevent anyone from fully participating in our daily slate of outdoor fun!

To that end, bathing suits should be comfortable for active water sports and provide enough coverage to facilitate easy arm and leg movement. We also ask that everyone leave make-up, nail polish, and other non-essential personal care items at home as well as hair dryers, dresses, skirts, and designer clothes. At Songadeewin, fashion and appearances don’t matter. It’s character that counts!

Laundry is done weekly at camp at no extra charge, and our camp store always has Songadeewin tee-shirts, sweatshirts, and hats in stock along with basic “tripping” gear like flashlights, river bags, and water bottles.
